We build on the work of the open data, open source, and mapping communities, along with aeronautical-data partners and public government datasets. Every third-party dataset, tile service, partner integration, and library we rely on is listed below. Thank you to the contributors and partners who make this possible.

Navigraph
The airport taxi map (taxiways, aprons, parking stands, and runways) is rendered from Navigraph’s Airport Moving Map Database, available to pilots who connect a Navigraph Unlimited subscription. The underlying aeronautical data is sourced from Jeppesen.
SimBrief
Flight plans, operational flight plans / briefings, and takeoff & landing performance (TLR) data are generated with SimBrief, a Navigraph product, when a pilot dispatches a flight.
OpenAIP
Airspace boundaries shown as an overlay on the flight-track map come from the OpenAIP community dataset.
FAA
Airport, runway, navaid, and instrument-procedure data (CIFP and NASR), along with the instrument charts used in training materials, are published by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and are in the public domain.
OurAirports
Base airport and navaid records (identifiers, names, locations, and elevations) come from the OurAirports open, public-domain dataset.

Places & geographic data

GeoNamesCC BY 4.0
Nearest-place lookups (the “Over {city}” line on the dashboard and live map) use the GeoNames cities15000 and countryInfo datasets.

Weather

Aviation Weather Center (NOAA / NWS)
Real-world METAR observations used for flight scoring, briefings, and the live map come from the FAA / NOAA Aviation Weather Center. Public-domain U.S. government data.
VATSIM
Network METARs for flights flown on the VATSIM network come from VATSIM’s weather service.

Map tiles & imagery

OpenStreetMapODbL
Base map data for light and dark tiles comes from the OpenStreetMap contributor community.
Stadia Maps
Alidade Smooth light/dark and Stamen Terrain tiles (rendered over OpenStreetMap/OpenMapTiles data) where an API key is configured.
Esri & partners
World Street Map, World Topo Map, and World Imagery tile services (with contributions from DeLorme, NAVTEQ, USGS, Intermap, iPC, NRCAN, Esri Japan, METI, Esri China, Esri Thailand, TomTom, USDA, AEX, GeoEye, Getmapping, Aerogrid, IGN, IGP, UPR-EGP, and the GIS User Community).
CARTO
Dark Matter basemap tiles (rendered over OpenStreetMap data) used on the live map's dark theme.
Mapbox
Mapbox Streets, Dark, Outdoors, and Satellite Streets tile styles where a Mapbox token is configured.

Open-source libraries

LeafletBSD-2-Clause
The mapping library that powers the live-map view.
MapLibre GLBSD-3-Clause
The WebGL mapping library that renders the Navigraph taxi map, both on the web and in the ACARS client.
