SOAR is the virtual-airline platform we wished existed — so we built it, ran our own airline on it, and opened it up to others.
Why SOAR exists
SOAR grew out of MetroAir, an established virtual airline (est. 2006) whose motto has always been “Realistic. Innovative. Professional.” Like most virtual airlines, MetroAir ran on aging, self-hosted software and a patchwork of bolt-on tools that were increasingly hard to maintain and never quite felt modern.
So we rebuilt from the ground up — migrating our own pilots, schedules, fleet, and years of flight history onto a modern stack — and designed it as a true multi-tenant platform from day one. SOAR is the result: the operational machinery of running a virtual airline, without the legacy baggage.
Because it was built by people who actually run a virtual airline, SOAR reflects what the job really takes — from ACARS tracking and flight scoring to schedules, divisions, and staff tooling.
