01Who we are

SOAR is a hobbyist virtual airline management platform. It is operated by the team behind MetroAir Virtual Airlines and made available to other virtual airlines ("VAs") hosted on the platform. Where a specific VA hosts you as a pilot, that VA may have its own additional terms, which apply alongside these.

02Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account, linking Discord, running the ACARS client, or otherwise using the platform, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

03Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the platform, consistent with Discord's minimum age and applicable children's-privacy law. Some VAs may set a higher minimum.

04Your account and responsibilities

You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Provide accurate information, and do not impersonate others or share your account.

05Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the platform or the Discord bot.

• Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the platform, its APIs, or other users' data.
• Do not scrape or bulk-extract data beyond the features provided.
• Do not submit falsified flight data, or automate flights in a way that misrepresents real simulator activity.
• Do not upload unlawful, infringing, or abusive content (including screenshots).

06The Discord bot

SOAR provides a Discord bot as a platform feature that a VA can enable for its Discord server. When you link your Discord account, the bot can add you to the VA's server and automatically assign and update roles and nicknames that reflect your pilot standing (rank, hub, staff status). It also powers commands (for example your stats, leaderboards, flight and schedule lookups, and a screenshot competition) and posts notifications such as promotions, awards, and PIREP approvals.

Your use of Discord is also governed by Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. You can unlink at any time; see the Privacy Policy for what linking stores and how to remove it.

07Virtual, hobby nature

SOAR and the VAs it hosts are not a real airline and provide no real-world aviation services. Everything on the platform relates to flight simulation for enthusiasts. Do not rely on any content here for real-world flight operations.

08Intellectual property

The platform's software, design, and branding belong to their respective owners. Content you submit (such as screenshots) remains yours, but you grant SOAR and the relevant VA permission to display and store it as needed to operate the features you use.

09Third-party services

The platform integrates third-party services (for example Discord, mapping and charting providers, and simulator tools). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

10Disclaimers

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost.

11Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SOAR and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. This is a free hobby service.

12Suspension, termination, and revoking access

We may suspend or terminate access that violates these terms or harms the platform or its members. You may stop using the platform, unlink Discord, or request deletion of your account at any time.

13Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
